Week 47 Chincha Alta

I SAW THE PROPHET!!!!

I've had an amazing week, I saw the Prophet with my own two eyes! We had a crazy spiritual banquet and boy were we well fed! He truly is an inspired man. There were the Lima missions present, the Peru Lima Central, East, West, North and South missions were there. There were a ton of Authorities there!! We saw 5 mission presidents and their wives, and the whole area presidency and their wives! We had the priveledge of hearing our area president, Elder Falabela and his wife, one of the apostles Elder Stevenson and his wife, and of course President Russel M. Nelson and his wife addressed us.

My three favorite talks were from Elder Falabela, Sister Nelson and President Nelson. Elder Falabela talked a lot about temple work. It was really good, he extended an invitation of thinking about the investigators' ancestors while we teach. He said that we should imagine that there are 100 angels rooting for you so that they could get their work done when the investigator gets baptized. It was really interesting.

Sister Nelson told an interesting story of how the Lord's Batallion devotional came to be. She told that there was a lot of adversity in the preparation of those talks. They said that the Monday before the talk they almost got hit twice by crazy drivers. That on Friday President Nelson got super sick and couldn't even speak, laringitis or something like that haha. And that their computer crashed and lost all of their talk like twice. They said that eventually they got there, President Nelson took a long nap and felt better she said haha. Very interesting to see Satan trying to make that devotional not happen.

President Nelson had a fire talk, seriously!! He talks a bit about the Book of Mormon, said it was his favorite book, and his favorite book within that book was 3 Nephi. He took us through step by step starting at chapter 11, then 12, then 13, all the way through 30. It was crazy because he was talking so fast and I was learning so much haha. Something that was interesting is that in the Bible map of the 12 tribes, Joseph doesn't have anything, because as it says in 3rd Nephi, "You are the house of Joseph." The tribe of Joseph is here. As well as Ephraim. The Prophet said we are blessed to be teaching among the Lamanites, the house of Joseph, because they are a blessed people. He went on to say that South America has 3/4ths of converts worldwide per year.

The Prophet is truly an inspired man. After his talk he gave us his testimony then he started giving us specific blessings!! He put a blessing of health on you guys hope you don't mind haha. One of the most interesting blessings he gave us was the ability to feast upon the words of Christ. I saw that one in action over the past few days.

Other than that we didn't do much. We just traveled, got to see a bunch of old companions and friends from other zones. It was super cool.
